At Bould Move, we train hard—but we recover harder. That’s why we’re big on collagen for bouldering recovery as a supplement. Think of it as fuel for your soft tissue: your tendons, ligaments, joints, and even your skin. Whether you’re chasing a dyno or holding onto a crimp, collagen is what keeps everything connected—and strong.
What is it?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, making up the structural scaffolding of connective tissue. But as you age (yes, even you, 25-year-olds), your natural collagen production starts to slow down. This can lead to niggles, soreness, slower recovery, and general creakiness. Enter: Collagen supplements.
Venom’s Collagen blend is hydrolyzed, which means it’s broken down for better absorption. It includes Type I and III collagen—key types for tendons, ligaments, and skin—and it’s designed to work fast and efficiently.
Why I chose it?
Tendons and ligaments are the real MVPs of climbing and training—but they don’t get much love. When they’re healthy, we barely notice. But when they’re not? You feel every single move.
I chose Collagen because it’s simple, clean, and it works. There’s now solid research supporting collagen + vitamin C supplementation for improving tendon integrity and reducing injury risk—especially when taken around 30-60 minutes before training.
How I use it?
In heavy training cycles I take it 30-60minutes before I train, sometimes mixed into my long black.
When injured or feeling ‘weak’ I take it an hour before bed.
My key rules:
- Consistency – Collagen works best when taken daily.
- Pre-training – Ideally 30-60 minutes before loading my tendons (bouldering, lifting). That’s when collagen + vitamin C is most effective.
- Support Phase – If I’m a little injured or feeling tweaky, I bump up the dosage to twice daily.
If you’re training hard, jumping between problems, or hanging off one arm hoping for a miracle—give your tendons what they need to show up for you.
Try it for a month and track how you feel—especially in the fingers, elbows, and shoulders.
If you do try it, stop me next time you’re in—I’d love to hear what changes you notice.
Stay Bould.
Christian.
