Beastmaker 2000 AKA Foreplay
What is it?
The Beastmaker 2000 is an advanced training tool designed for boulderers to improve their finger strength and grip. It’s a wooden hangboard featuring a variety of holds, including pockets, slopers, and edges, each designed to target different muscle groups in your fingers, hands, and forearms.
How I use it?
To use the Beastmaker 2000, mount it securely on a wall at a height where you can comfortably reach it. I will use it in the later half of my warm ups, gradually applying more weight as I warm up. Generally starting at 60% effort/body weight and working my way up to a full hang, I will do this one hand at a time, alternating reps on the 20mm edge.
Make sure to listen to your body when using the hang board as it can lead to unnecessary stresses in your tendons and pulleys if proper protocols are not followed. I recommend doing further research into how to hang board more specific to your needs and your ability.
Why I chose it?
I chose the Beastmaker 2000 because it’s a favourite among serious boulderers for its challenging variety of holds. As someone dedicated to improving my bouldering skills, I needed a reliable and effective tool to enhance my finger strength. The quality and craftsmanship of the Beastmaker 2000 are unmatched, making it a worthy investment for long-term training. Plus, it’s a great way to train when I can’t get to the gym.
